Definition

What is a React Native mobile app?

A mobile app is a program installed on an iOS or Android phone. With React Native, a single codebase serves both systems, which shortens build time, lowers cost and makes later updates easier. The app can use the camera, GPS and push notifications, and can work offline.

In practice · example scenario

An app for service crews

See more examples →

Technicians get jobs on their phones, take photos of the work and collect the customer’s signature on screen, and the report goes straight to the office and the customer. It works offline too.

Before and after

What changes after implementation?

Before

×No idea what stage a job is at
×Customers wait days for paperwork
After
✓Everything in one app on the phone
✓Report ready the moment the job ends
✓Live job status
✓Documents with the customer right after the visit

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

How long does it take to build a mobile app?

A first version with the key features usually takes from a few weeks to a few months, depending on scope and integrations. I work in iterations, so you get a test build on your phone early and can try it with staff or customers before it goes to the stores.

Can the app work offline?

Yes. The app can store data on the device and sync it once the connection is back. That matters for service crews working in basements, warehouses or outside town, where signal is weak and paperwork has to be done on the spot.

Who publishes the app to the App Store and Google Play?

I prepare the app for release, write the listings, create screenshots and take it through review in both stores. The app is published under your developer account, so you remain its owner and keep full control over future versions.
